Think you know your favorite book? We're about to put that to the test!
Join The Story Social DFW at Celestial Beerworks in Dallas for an evening of books, laughter, friendly competition, delicious food and drinks, and new bookish friendships!
Whether you're obsessed with romantasy, can't resist a good thriller, live for happily-ever-afters, or love getting lost in literary fiction, this night is for YOU!
What Is Bring Your Own Book?
It's a hilarious, interactive literary party game where your favorite book becomes your secret weapon!
Here's how it works:
Each round, we'll reveal a creative, funny, or completely unexpected prompt.
Your challenge? Flip through the pages of the book you brought and find a passage that makes the perfect response!
Maybe it's a line that would make a terrible dating profile, something hilariously inappropriate to say at a job interview, or a sentence that sounds absolutely unhinged without context.
The possibilities are endless, and the answers are guaranteed to get some laughs!
You'll share your passage with your table, and everyone will vote for their favorite response.
But here's where things get interesting...
Each table will select a winner who receives a small prize and advances to compete against the other table winners.
The overall winner of each round receives an additional prize!
Throughout the evening, we'll keep track of wins, and our top-scoring player will take home our GRAND PRIZE — a gorgeous limited-edition or deluxe-edition book!
If there's a tie for the grand prize, we'll settle it with one final secret prompt!
And because The Story Social is all about building community, we'll switch tables between rounds, giving you the chance to play with different people and make new bookish friends throughout the evening!
IMPORTANT: Bring a Book You Know REALLY Well!
We can't stress this enough!
Bring a physical copy of a book you've already read and know inside and out.
You'll need to search through its pages to find the perfect passages, so choose something you're familiar with!
Think:
Your all-time favorite novel.
That romance you've reread three times.
Your favorite fantasy adventure with unforgettable dialogue.
A thriller full of shocking twists and memorable lines.
A book with hilarious conversations or completely chaotic characters.
This is NOT the night to bring something brand-new from your TBR pile!
You don't need to have the book memorized, but the better you know it, the more fun you'll have.
All genres are welcome!

We're thrilled to be hosting this event at Celestial Beerworks, one of Dallas's wonderfully creative craft breweries!
Come early, grab a refreshing craft beer or another beverage, order something delicious to eat, and settle in for a fantastic evening.
It's the perfect opportunity to enjoy some good food and drinks while connecting with fellow readers.
Food and beverages are available for purchase separately and are not included in your event ticket.
